With its glorious position at the mouth of the Camel estuary and the long sandy Hayle Bay famed for its surfing.

The vast Atlantic rollers pound this safe beach making ideal sport for surfers, kite flyers and Windsurfers.

But don't worry if surfing isn't for you - Polzeath is the perfect place to get some sand between your toes, relax and recline as the kids explore the safe sands and rockpools.

The coastal path passes through Polzeath, and there is the breathtaking scenery of the cliffs from Pentire to Port Quinn offering wonderful walking country.

Polzeath is a small village on the headland opposite Stepper Point in Padstow. It was one of Sir John Betjeman favourite places and is celebrated in some of his verse. There are many local shops, providing everything required for the holidaymaker from surf shop, restaurants and pubs.

Close to Polzeath are Daymer Bay and Trebetherick, with some some of the best bathing and surfing beaches in Cornwall. The area has a huge appeal to families.

The area around Polzeath has exhilarating and magnificent views of the country, with wide open, peaceful spaces in which to be at one with nature.

Polzeath is the location for the UK 's first Voluntary Marine Wildlife Reserve providing events and activities around the areas unique sea life and promoting an understanding of life at the ocean's edge.
